Neill Davies - CA (SA)
Neil has been Executive Chairman of Powertech Ltd. and Fintech Ltd., and has sat on the board of Anglo American, Rand Leases, Vestacor and Durban Roodepoort Deep.
Neill was awarded honorary membership of South African Institute of Industry and Commerce in 1987 for contribution to South African industry, chaired the Alexandra Development Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1990 by Johannesburg businessmen to build houses in Alexandra, and was Vice President of the South African Rowing Union.
Since 1997 Neill has focused on turnarounds of both listed and unlisted companies. In that role, he has sat on the board of a number of companies, including Afgri, Astrapak, Brait, Claude Neon, Clinical Emergencies, Concor, Rennies Express Distribution, Rusfurn and Unispin.
Gavin Goldblatt - BSocSci, Economics Honours, MBA
Gavin regularly advises both South African Government organizations and international organizations on business support, technology development and commercialization issues. Amongst other pro-bono work he has been an advisor to the National Council for Innovation, a member of the Steering Committee of the South African Research and Innovation Managers Association, and a member of the Council for Higher Education MBA Accreditation program.
David Robb - BA (Hons) Econ
David is one of the founder members of Clade, and since establishing Clade he has been incubating start-up companies in the health and bio-tech sectors, providing advisory services, sitting as the chair of several large trust funds, and been leading commercial property investment initiatives.
David started his career after completing his degree at Sussex University, by working in Britain in health services. After returning to South Africa he became general manager of Alexandra Health Centre, a highly successful not-for-profit clinic, and developed courses in hospital management for Wits Medical and Business Schools. After the 1994 elections David headed the South African Health Department in the North West Province until 1997
Carl Isernhinke - BSc, B Sc Honours (Actuarial Science)
Prior to joining Abvest Carl was a director of Escher Structured Products (Pty) Ltd. ESP focused on design, pricing, implementation/trading and administration of derivative based investment products. Before joining ESP, Carl was responsible for the quantitative analysis of asset managers and the construction of the risk-profiled Multi-Manager portfolios for PSG Escher Investments. There he designed and added structured products to the range of risk-profiled portfolios. The assets in the structured portfolios grew to over R4 billion.
Carl obtained his BSc degree majoring in Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science from Wits in 1995. Thereafter he completed an Honours degree in Actuarial Science, including courses on Investments, Options Pricing, Modern Portfolio Theory, Interest Rate Derivatives and Hedging and Swaps.
VUCHIRAI GAPPAH (UCHI) - B. BUS. SC (Actuarial Science)
Prior to joining Clade, Uchi graduated at the University of Cape Town with B.BusSci (Actuarial Science). He joined Clade Investment management in February 2006 and he is responsible for quantitative analysis.
LEEVANIA NAICKER - B. BUS. SC. (FINANCE)
Leevania graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2006. She joined Clade Investment Management in February of 2007 fulfilling the position of Business Development.
At UCT, Leevania was involved in various student leadership activities. In 2005, she sat on the Day Houses Sub-Council, a sub-council of the Student Representatives Council (SRC), and was a member of the Student Assembly. She was also elected Vice President of the Investment Society (InvestSoc) in 2006.
