The Govex is an Exchange Traded Fund that intends to mirror the performance of the BESA Government Bond Index . Govex units take the form of debentures that are issued by Exchange Traded Funds Ltd , managed by Clade Investment Management and are traded on the Bond Exchange of South Africa (BESA).

• The Govex provides easy, liquid and low cost access to a basket of South African Government bonds for both institutional and retail investors


• Investors can buy or sell the entire basket of Government bonds with one trade


• By removing the administrative burden of investing in a basket of bonds, investors are freed up to focus on value added investment decisions and strategies

The Govex pays coupons as these are received from the underlying bond portfolio. These coupons are the sum of the coupons received by the underlying bonds plus any scrip lending revenue, less costs incurred since the last coupon payment. These coupons are automatically reinvested in the fund, increasing the capital value of each debenture.
